Wynne Construction passes accreditation audit with flying colours

23-Jan-2019

Wynne Construction passes accreditation audit with flying colours Wynne Construction is celebrating after being awarded internationally renowned industry certification. The company has earned three ISO recognised UKAS accreditations, including a newly introduced global standard for health and safety.

UKAS, the only UK accreditation body recognised by the UK Government, provides organisations with ISO certification. Certificates are achieved by following best practice set by the International Standard Organisation.

The accreditation, which is awarded by an independent third party, serves as a seal of approval for a company’s credibility. And after a four-day audit carried out by Ocean Certification, Wynne Construction achieved UKAS accreditation in all three areas of the assessment.

The ISO 45001 health and safety accreditation approved the contractor’s procedures to protect welfare, which include risk assessment, training, hazard identification and also occupational health management. Ocean also awarded the firm with ISO 19001 certification for standards in quality management, and ISO 14001, which recognises organisations that care for the environment.

Colin Proffit-Jones, Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Manager at Wynne Construction, said: "We have held these certificates for six years now, but such is the importance of the standards, we undergo audits on an annual basis to ensure we achieve full compliance with ISO standard requirements. This year, we have integrated all of our ISO accredited systems into one, streamlining our management of them to save time, resources, and money. The accreditation demonstrates our excellence and on going commitment to improvement across the business."

Keith Shakes, lead auditor at Ocean Certification, said: "I'm delighted to see that through team effort and dedication, Wynne Construction has achieved UKAS accredited certification across all three standards. Having an integrated ISO management system in place will help this award-winning organisation continue its growth across public and private sector markets."

The firm regularly leads on projects in sectors including education, healthcare, and sport and leisure. In November 2018, it was named SME of the Year (up to 250 employees) at the UK-wide Constructing Excellence awards.
