17-Mar-2014

The Italian Job...visit to UCCL Project A group of Italian students on a two-week language course with the Conlan School of Abergele, recently visited the construction site at Coleg Llandrillo in Rhos-on-Sea. The group of fourteen students, who come from the Tuscany region and had received funding for their trip, are studying surveying and construction at their technical college and were accompanied by their surveying tutor and translator Luca Gonnelli.

The visit to the new build UCCL (University College, Coleg Llandrillo) project which is creating a Learning Resources Centre and offices at the college, was an opportunity for the students to improve their knowledge of construction in both languages. The tour of the site was given by Wynne Construction's welsh-speaking HSEQ Manager, Glyn Hughes to add to their cultural exchange.

Chris Wynne, Managing Director, Wynne Construction commented: "The students had a very good understanding of English including some of the technical terminology that we use in construction. We were pleased to be able to support the work that the Conlan School are offering to the students and to demonstrate construction practices here in North Wales."
