Wynne Construction was appointed by Anglesey County Council to build the new Ysgol Corn Hir primary school situated on the outskirts of Llangefni. The new building replaced the existing Ysgol Corn Hir school.
The new school provides pupils with the latest facilities and resources to include modern and well equipped classrooms and suitable outdoor areas for play and learning. The project was part funded by the Welsh Government through the Sustainable Communities for Learning Programme.
The school is constructed to BREEAM Excellent standards. BREEAM sets the standard for best practice in sustainable building design, construction and operation and has become one of the most comprehensive and widely recognised measures of a building's environmental performance.
This project has adopted several approaches to achieving the score of Excellent and to construct a very energy efficient building, including photovoltaic panels and air source heat pumps.
Work started in June 2021 and the new school building opened in March 2023.

The new school opened this morning with very positive comments from staff and parents. Thank you all for delivering another hugely successful school project for Anglesey Council.
As always, it has been a pleasure to work with you all again. The teamwork involved has been exceptional and professional at all times.
