Our Wynne Futures Foundation is specifically designed to deliver knowledge, skills, training, development, and support for social value activities across our business.
Wynne Construction has always, throughout its history, supported local communities. We have created a Wales-based supply chain, generated apprenticeship and employment opportunities, and carried out charitable work since the inception of the company.
This impact is culturally driven by our Wynne Construction social value strategy and we believe that everyone has a role to play in the ideation, engagement, and delivery of social value.
Wynne Futures is a robust framework of four individual hubs, each with its own particular focus to deliver knowledge, skills, training and development, and support for social value across all our business operations.

Engagement Hub
The aim of our Engagement Hub is to deliver activities which educate, support and inspire school pupils to engage with the construction sector and to consider future careers in construction and the built environment.
Here are just some of the activities within the hub:
- Our GoConstruct STEM Ambassadors deliver health and safety presentations to all school year groups.
- Organise site visits to local Wynne Construction projects.
- Deliver workshops to support the new Curriculum for Wales for all year groups, including numeracy, sustainability, biodiversity and technology and using real projects as a flexible, live learning tool.
- Support events such as “Choose your Future”, mock interviews and work experience placements organised in partnership with Careers Wales.

Experience Hub
The aim of our Experience Hub is to create opportunities for young people, who are either in education or NEET, and those who are unemployed to engage with the construction sector and gain the confidence and practical skills to become an apprentice, develop further as a student or help to pursue a career in construction.
Here are just some of the activities within the hub:
• Offering work experience placements for a minimum of 5 days, particularly in the trades, but also in technical roles, working directly with our site teams, our supply chain partners and design partners. Work experience participants should be 16+ years old. This includes school pupils, undergraduates/graduates, NEETs and anyone unemployed.
• Support for Careers Wales, DWP and other agencies by hosting workshops for NEETs and long-term unemployed looking to for work experience.
• Support for the CITB Onsite Experience Hubs across Wales, who employability skills, CV writing, health and safety training and support to undertake a one-week work placement on sites.

Community Hub
The aim of our Community Hub is to adopt the principles of the Welsh Government Well-being of Future Generations Act 2015 to fully support and improve sustainability across Wales and within the communities in which we work.
Here are just some of the activities within the hub:
- We liaise with local third-sector organisations to identify volunteering opportunities within project communities, which are advertised internally on our intranet and enable our employees to support causes which are important to them.
- We provide opportunities for local neighbours to engage with us and have face to face dialogue, and we are proud to be Considerate Constructors, with sites registered with the CCS scheme.
- We support local youth and community groups through sponsorship and donations of site won/excess materials to local projects, helping them develop and build on their own success.

Development Hub
The aim of our Development Hub is to provide employment and the highest quality of training and development for our workforce and our supply chain partners.
Here are just some of the activities within the hub:
- Maximise on funding, workshops, and specialist expertise available via education and training providers to ensure we continuously upskill and develop our team.
- Provide our employees with regular training in accredited and short course qualifications.
- Organise site-based workshops, offering training and advice on how to access CITB Cymru funding for workforce upskilling.

The construction sector is such a vast industry with so many different avenues to go down from office work to being based on site. It’s one of the best industries to work in, and for a youngster, there are that many openings and opportunities they can do. I’m really grateful to Wynne for investing in my career and development and I’m looking forward to putting the theory in practice on site.

When Wynne Construction’s name came up at the Job Centre, I asked if I could apply for a work experience placement there. The placements are voluntary and you are required to spend two weeks on them. I asked to stay on longer at the site. Other guys said I was an idiot for working voluntarily. I disagreed and I’m the one with the job now.
