Wynne Construction is celebrating being shortlisted for a prestigious regional business award. The company was one of just three companies to be nominated in its category at the 2017 Daily Post Business Awards.
Established in 1926, Wynne Construction was shortlisted for Business of the Year (under 50 employees).
The winners were announced at a ceremony at Bangor University – joint headline sponsor of the highly-regarded awards with the Welsh Government.
Organisers said 2017 had been an exceptional year for entries, with strong competition across all categories – showing businesses in the region are continuing to thrive.
David Williams, chairman of North Wales Business Club and chair of the judging panel, said: “It’s when I read the entries for the Daily Post Business Awards that I am reminded what a diverse economy North Wales is developing. Once again, the standard of the entries in 2017 has been of a very high quality, but more importantly I think, the innovation and determination to succeed has been a pleasure for the judges to see.
“The larger companies are continuing to grow despite the various economic frustrations that they face. Alongside them, and filling the newcomer and small and medium business categories, we see determined leadership, product innovation and a full grasp of what is needed to succeed and be sustainable in business.”
The winner was Pero Foods: an expanding pet food firm; and the other finalist was Itas, an award-winning Sage business partner.
Managing director, Chris Wynne said: “I am immensely proud that the company has been shortlisted for this prestigious award. It is an accolade for the Wynne Construction team as well as our indigenous supply chain, many of whom are Welsh-based, and local SME’s. Together they work with us to deliver our projects across the region.
“We always work in collaboration with our clients and key partners to achieve best value through exploring new technologies and construction process, and I’m delighted that we are receiving recognition for our achievements.”
