Wynne Construction has been appointed by Gwynedd Council to build the new Ysgol Glancegin school, in Maesgeirchen, Bangor. The £5m new school replaced the former Ysgol Glancegin, which has 230 pupils and included extensive landscaping of the school grounds and a new outdoor play and educational area along with the demolition of the existing building.
The new school building opened in September 2017 and was part funded by the Welsh Government through the 21st Century Schools Programme.
The school was constructed to BREEAM Excellent standards and adopted several approaches to achieving the score of Excellent and to construct a very energy efficient building.
Construction for the project began in January 2016 and was completed in November 2017.
