Wynne Construction was appointed by Cyngor Gwynedd to develop the £8m new build Ysgol Treferthyr in Criccieth. The new build school provides space for 150 pupils, an increase from the previous site’s capacity of 119, an early years unit, and an additional learning assessment unit. The scheme was funded by the Welsh Government through the Sustainable Communities for Learning Programme and Cyngor Gwynedd. Upon completion, pupils moved from the school in the centre of Criccieth to the new site, which sits along the A497 on the western approach to the town.
Our site team built six classrooms, a hall, kitchen, and a multipurpose room as part of the development.
Work on the site started in February 2023 and finished in August 2024.
