Ysgol Yr Hafod, Johnstown

Wynne Construction was appointed by Wrexham County Borough Council to carry out the refurbishment and extension works at Ysgol Yr Hafod in Johnstown.

The extension integrated the old schoolhouse as well as creating three new classrooms and a reception/nursery in order to join together the infant and junior schools, which are currently located on two different sites. The refurbishment includes a new main entrance and administration hub, a new early years foundation class base, a new staff car park, and a multi-use games area.

The project was funded by the Welsh Government's Sustainable Communities for Learning programme.

Work started on site in February 2022 and was completed in Autumn 2023.
