Wynne Construction is positioning itself as a construction firm of choice following its appointment to a prestigious Welsh Procurement Alliance (WPA) framework.
The Denbighshire-based business joins the four-year New Homes for Wales (H2W) Framework on the medium (16 to 49 homes) and large (more than 50 homes) lots following a competitive tender process.
The H2W Framework has been created with key strategic social value objectives in mind, which aims to maximise the positive impact of projects delivered.
The key measurements, which include improving the local environment, homelessness, food and energy poverty, and training, fall under the wider social value categories of planet and environment, social mobility, and individual wellbeing as outlined in WPA’s Social Value Strategy.
Created for public sector bodies in response to the Welsh Government’s demand for affordable housing, Wynne Construction secured the appointment across all five regions of Wales: the north-east, north-west, mid, south-east, and south-west.
With the family-run contractor underway with several major housing projects such as the £25m, 59-home Sunnyside Wellness Village in South Wales, the latest framework presents broader opportunities for the firm to deliver similar developments across Wales.
Wynne Construction pre-construction director Andy Garner said: “It’s fantastic to have secured a place on this recognised framework, and I believe it will play a key role in reinforcing our presence in several areas across the nation.
“With the increasing need for cost-effective housing, the appointment comes at a crucial time, giving us the chance to strengthen our proposals and to build on the work we are proud to deliver.”
With the framework requiring all its members to reach set strategic social value objectives, Andy believes Wynne’s appointment further underscores its commitment to both people and the planet.
“Our selection is a testament not only to the quality of our work and our operational standards, but also to our ongoing commitment to social value in the communities we serve,” he added.
